Rising Stars: Meet Nick Bracks of NEW YORK

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Bracks.

Hi Nick, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.I started this work after going through my own challenges with mental health, alcohol, confidence and direction in my early twenties. That period forced me to rebuild my life from the inside out and made me really interested in why so many people can look like they’re doing well on the outside while struggling privately behind the scenes.

Over time, that became the foundation for Move Your Mind. I began speaking, coaching and creating content around mindset, wellbeing, resilience, identity and personal growth. The focus has always been helping people understand themselves better, handle pressure in healthier ways and build a life that feels more grounded, meaningful and sustainable.

Over the last 14 years, I’ve delivered more than 1,000 talks globally, written a book called Move Your Mind, delivered two TEDx talks, and worked with organisations around wellbeing, leadership and performance. I also host the Move Your Mind podcast, where I’ve recorded 270+ conversations with psychologists, athletes, authors, leaders and people with powerful personal stories.

Alongside this, I’m also developing and producing scripted projects, including a TV series that explores mental health, identity, ambition and the pressure to appear like you have it all together. For me, it all connects back to the same mission: using storytelling, honest conversations and practical tools to help people feel less alone and more capable of changing their lives.

Today, I split my time between Los Angeles and New York and continue to build Move Your Mind across speaking, coaching, podcasting, content, community, live experiences and scripted media.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. A big part of my work came from having to rebuild my own life after struggling with mental health, alcohol, confidence and direction in my early twenties. At the time, I looked like I should have had things figured out, but internally I felt lost and disconnected from myself.

One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to turn those experiences into something useful, not just for myself, but for other people. Building Move Your Mind has taken a lot of persistence – from speaking and coaching, to writing a book, growing the podcast, creating content, building community and now developing scripted projects. There have been plenty of moments of uncertainty, financial pressure, self-doubt and trying to work out which direction to focus on.

Another challenge has been staying true to the mission while building something sustainable. I care deeply about honest conversations, mental health, identity and helping people feel less alone, but I’ve also had to learn the business side: how to grow an audience, create opportunities, partner with the right people and keep moving forward when things take longer than expected.

Those challenges have shaped everything I do now. They’ve made me more grounded, more resilient and more committed to creating work that is honest, practical and human.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?My work sits across speaking, coaching, podcasting, content, live experiences and scripted media. At the core of everything I do is Move Your Mind, which focuses on mindset, wellbeing, identity, resilience and helping people better understand themselves.

I’ve delivered more than 1,000 talks globally, written a book called Move Your Mind, delivered two TEDx talks, and worked with organisations around wellbeing, leadership and sustainable performance. I also host the Move Your Mind podcast, where I’ve recorded 270+ conversations with psychologists, athletes, authors, leaders and people with powerful personal stories.

Creatively, I’m also developing and producing a scripted TV series that explores mental health, ambition, identity and the pressure to appear like you have it all together. That side of my work allows me to use storytelling in a different way, while still staying connected to the same themes I care about.

What sets my work apart is that it combines lived experience, practical tools and honest storytelling. I’m not interested in surface-level self-help. I care about creating work that feels real, human and useful. I’m most proud of building Move Your Mind into something that can help people feel less alone, more self-aware and more capable of changing their lives.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?The quality that has been most important to my success is persistence, but not in a blind or forced way. More than anything, it has been the ability to keep going while also staying self-aware enough to keep learning, adapting and growing.

A lot of what I’ve built has taken longer than I expected. Speaking, writing, podcasting, coaching, building Move Your Mind, creating content and developing scripted projects have all required patience and resilience. There have been plenty of moments where things didn’t move as quickly as I wanted, or where I had to rethink the path completely.

I think self-awareness is what keeps persistence from turning into stubbornness. It helps me ask better questions, take feedback, understand my own patterns and stay connected to why I started in the first place.

For me, success comes from combining resilience with honesty. Being willing to keep showing up, but also being willing to look at yourself clearly, tell the truth, and keep improving.
